How Genetics Play a Role In Your Diabetes

The number of Americans with diabetes is rapidly growing with the latest numbers showing roughly 10% of Americans have diabetes and 20% of those people don’t even know it. Your weight, blood pressure, activity level, age, and cholesterol levels are just some of the indicators that you’re pre-diabetic or at a higher risk factor for diabetes. The more you know, the more you can take deliberate action to fight back

3. Mindset

The biggest ramification of this myth of a diabetes gene is the mindset it puts people in. If you feel you’re somehow “doomed to diabetes”, you won’t take the action you can to optimize your health. Instead, you’ll simply resign yourself to poor health and as the mind goes, the body surely follows. This is perhaps one of the biggest health hurdles people need to overcome on their journey to wellness.
